I don’t usually jump on many YouTube tags, but What I Got for Christmas is one I can never resist watching. So naturally, I decided to film one this year!
I love seeing the presents people received and I always think it really shows someone’s likes, dislikes and personalities, more so than any other video!
I hope you all like mine!
What I Got for Christmas… 2016 video
As you can see, I received quite a mixture of bits and bobs this year! I thought I’d give a little written overview too, in case I missed anything out in the video.
Obviously, my Apple Watch was the biggest present I got this year, without a doubt. As this was a complete surprise too I can’t really explain why I asked for this either. Actually, come to think of it, I don’t think I asked for any of the presents I received!
Anyway, an Apple Watch was a perfect present for me. I’ve been undecided which fitness tracker to get for a long time now, either FitBit, Jawbone etc. I had ruled out getting an Apple Watch because of the price, but now I’ve received one I can tell it’s going to be so much more.
Obviously I will be using it as a fitness tracker (when I eventually get back to the gym). But I feel like it’s sort of an extension to my phone, which I won’t need to keep rummaging to get out from the bottom of my bag!
There’s not many people who can say ‘I got tickets to go to a bar in East London which is basically one big ball pit’ for Christmas. Kudos to my brother here, both for the present idea and how the present was presented!
He made me open a box filled with plastic balls and hid a note saying he bought tickets right at the bottom.
Obviously there won’t be many people that’ll be chuffed to bits about getting the Monopoly Pokemon Kanto edition board game either. Do I receive quirky presents because I’m quirky, or because I know quirky people?
Receiving a good book for Christmas is always great, especially if it’s by an author I’ve had on my to-read list for a while! It’s actually a bit shameful of me that I still haven’t got round to reading Haruki Murakami yet, but this is definitely going to change in 2017.
I forgot to say in the video that I’d seen Norwegian Wood because I’m a big world cinema fan. In fact, I have my own world cinema blog (which is here if you’d like to see more.) I’ve seen the film adaptation from the book, but now I’m looking forward to reading the novel!
And finally jewellery; gold, silver, jest, whatever! I like receiving it all as it’s something I wear everyday and it’s nice to mix up.
What did you get?
Tell me the best and most loved presents you got for Christmas in the comments section below! It could give me some ideas for next year… but until then, I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas.
